and it is still part of its artisan and crative heritage.
San Frediano is the most popular district of old Florence, where you can still breathe and experience the authentic Florentine spirit. San Frediano is still today synonimous of small artisan shops, restaurants and taverns, the baker, the butcher, the lethar goods artisan, the hardware store.
It is a residential neighborhood designed with squares, narrow streets and magical corners; a neighborhood rich in art such as the Basilica of Santa Maria del Carmine (Brancacci Chapel decorated by Masaccio), the church of Santo Spirito (signed by Brunelleschi, in the sacristy preserves the crucifix made in early childhood by Michelangelo) and that of the Cestello.
The noisy Florence of tourism, great hotels and Michelin star restaurants is just across the bridge, close and yet so far from the charm of San Frediano.
